The struggle continues
After what had been a very full and promising recording day on Friday, when it seemed that the stomach virus that has been tracking our German artist group pretty much since leaving Germany had disappeared, reality set back in on Saturday. After claiming an early victim in our fine camera man Saturday night the rest of us soldiered on to the University of Michigan vs. Colorado game the following morning. Though we had what surely will be the best seats yours truly will ever have the pleasure of sitting in, the idea of joining 100.000 other people in full celebration mode, when half the group feels what could only be described as "under the weather", turned out to not be a very good idea. Accordingly one of our artists went straight to the first aid tent upon arrival while others started to become ill in the stands. As a result we ended up leaving at halftime...Once getting back to Detroit some of us started feeling better so that most were able to join the "South West Detroit Cipher" put on by project involved artist Michael Reyes and his crew. We had a great time in a very intimate setting. Next to the performances and the DJ sets the evening was full of lively conversation and new connections surely were formed.
Today we had another full work/recording day. We are making great progress on both the album as well the documentary. Our time here is slowly coming to an end. Tomorrow we are slated to run another workshop at the University of Michigan, we will shoot music videos and we will continue to work.

Nach einem vollem, vielversprechenden Aufanhme/Arbeitstag am Freitag, wo es noch wirkte als ob der Virus der die Deutschen Künstler des Projekts scheinbar seit der Abreise aus Deutschland verfolgt uns verlassen hätte, wurde am Samstag schnell deutlich dass dies nicht der Fall war. Nachdem er schon am frühen Samstag Morgen unseren feinen Kameramann flachlegte, blieben die anderen Künstler Hart und machten sich am Samstag Vormittag trotzdem auf den Weg zum University of Michigan vs Colorado Spiel. Und trotzdem wir die besten Sitze die wir alle je bei einem Spiel dieser Größenordnung hatten oder jemals haben werden genießen durften, so wurde doch schnell deutlich das es keine gut Idee war, sich in einem Zustand den man nicht anders als "angeschlagen" bezeichnen kann, einer Menschenmenge von 100.000 feiernden Menschen anzuschließen. Demzufolge ging es nach der Ankunft im Stadion für eine unserer KünstlerInnen direkt ab zum Erste Hilfe Zelt, während andere langsam in den Rängen krank wurden. So gingen wir nach der Halbzeit. Nachdem wir wieder in Detroit ankamen ging es dem größten Teil der Gruppe bereits etwas besser, so dass wir in der Lage waren der "South West Detroit Cipher" die von am Projekt mitwirkenden Künstler Mike Reyes und seiner Crew organisiert wurde beizuwohnen. Wir hatte einen sehr schönen Abend in einer sehr intimen Atmosphäre und neben der Cipher und den DJ Sets gab es viele Gespräche und Möglichkeiten zur Vernetzung.
Heute hatten wir einen weiteren vollen Aufnahme/Schreibtag. Wir machen große Fortschritte in Richtung Album und Dokumentarfilm.
Unsere Zeit hier geht langsam dem Ende entgegen. Morgen werden wir einen weiteren Workshop in der University of Michigan abhalten. Außerdem werden wir Musik Videos drehen, weiter Schreiben, Aufnehmen und Arbeiten.
